Blairgowrie Golf Club Investment Seminar

Carbon recently held an Investment Seminar at Blairgowrie Golf Club. Carbon’s Investment Director, Barry O’Neill, delivered a presentation which explained the main features of our investment proposition that led to the firm winning the coveted “Investment Adviser of the Year” at the prestigious Professional Adviser awards in London earlier this year.

Some of the key points were: –

An insight in to the weight of academic evidence that supports our belief that active investment management doesn’t work in the best interests of investors.

That risk and return are related, and that they only way to increase returns is to take on more risk or reduce the cost of investment.

That some risks are worth taking whilst others are not.

Simple steps you can take to improve your chances of investment success.

The evening ended with Managing Director, Gordon Wilson, chairing a Q&A session where 4 of the 5 members of Carbon’s Investment Team fielded some really excellent questions from the audience.

Feedback from those attending was very positive, with comments like “the whole range of financial planning was explained in terms that could be understood by the layman. A very useful seminar”.
