Carbon is celebrating yet another prestigious industry accolade to round off 2015 in style.
We have been awarded the ‘Gold Standard for Independent Financial Advice’ for a third year in a row.
Our Corporate Director, Mark Christie, was honoured to receive the award from Sir David Amess MP in the historic Churchill Room at the House of Commons.
Now in their 13th year, these UK awards are designed to identify financial services companies which have strong structures and procedures in place and are going above and beyond standard business practices.
Like others in our industry, we place great store by them because the Gold Standard Awards not only take account of a company’s capability to conduct business, but assess standards of service, financial strength, fair value and trust, as well as elements such as culture and social responsibility.
Managing Director Gordon Wilson is delighted for the Carbon team.
He said: “It has been a fantastic year for Carbon and winning the Gold Standard again means we finish on a real high.
“This is not an easy award to win and the team puts in a huge amount of work to make sure that our standards rise year on year.
“We go forward now into 2016 with a great deal of confidence as we have again been recognised in London as being among the very best financial planning businesses in the UK.”
We are thrilled with the feedback from Deborah Benn, chairman of the independent Judging Panel, who told us:
“Achieving a more sustainable financial services sector is in the best interests of companies and consumers alike.
“Assessing a wide range of factors is a good way to develop a picture of whether a company is achieving sustainable growth that puts the client at the heart of its processes.
“This year’s crop of Gold Standard Award achievers has passed a rigorous and wide ranging assessment of their capabilities to go above and beyond standard practices to meet these demands and deserve to be commended for their efforts.”
To achieve a Gold Standard Award, we had to complete a rigorous questionnaire designed to assess our progress in five pillars – financial strength, capability, service, fair value and trust – and demonstrate that we continue to stretch ourselves to achieve our high levels of excellence.
The judges’ comments indicated why they felt we were again worthy of striking gold:
