Barry O’Neill, Associate Director in Aberdeen was delighted to attend the latest student prize-giving event at the University of Aberdeen’s Business School to present the Carbon prize to Olivia Lumsden, the top performing student on the Financial Markets course.
Olivia will soon be entering Level 3 of the MA Accountancy-Finance programme. She joined the University from Kemnay Academy in Aberdeenshire and has consistently achieved A+ grades in her first two years, excelling in courses including Accountancy, Finance, and Economics. Olivia's passion and enthusiasm for her subject area have been evident, and Course Coordinators from all three disciplines are looking forward to welcoming her into their Honours years.
This prize comes hot on the heels of last year’s winner, Varun Sahani, having completed a 3 week internship in our Edinburgh office. Carbon has a long track record of welcoming Accountancy-Finance students into the firm for internships, some of whom have gone on to become members of staff, including Associate Director Matt Duncan, who has now been with the firm for 10 years.
Supporting academia is very important to Carbon as our investment philosophy is firmly guided by the University based research of many Nobel Prize winning financial economists.
