On 16th September the Carbon Social Cycle Club heads to the Royal Burgh of Linlithgow for a ‘rolling’ 47 mile ride which takes in quiet farm roads, Beecraigs Country Park and a tour of the mighty Bathgate Alps.
We will meet for an 8:45am start at Linlithgow train station (outside the main entrance leading to the High Street). From the train station the route first heads west, gradually climbing for 6 miles until we reach California (don’t get excited!). Then, after being rewarded with a swift descent the route climbs again for 8 or so miles before finally relenting and providing a mostly downhill rest to the 22 mile mark where we will enjoy coffee and cake just outside of Torphichen at The Cupcake Café Bar. Fully energised we will then enter stage 2 of the route which first meanders through Beecraigs Country Park then provides a 25 mile tour of the Bathgate Alps before descending back into Linlithgow.
For a full route profile please see here.
If you would like to come along, please let me know and I will provide some further details nearer the time.
Best wishes,
