Carbon's Women in Finance - Felicity Jones

Our Women in Finance series continues with another quick-fire Q&A with Felicity Jones, our Senior Paraplanner.

How long have you worked at Carbon?

Since October 2019

What does your ideal weekend look like?

Weather dependant, a day climbing a new Scottish Munro or Kitesurfing, followed by a laid-back day pottering around the kitchen and the local beaches of East Lothian.

What did you dream about being when you grew up?

An Air-Hostess or Britney Spears! Later on, in my teens I enjoyed maths and the sciences but had no specific ambitions, although I considered Engineering.

Where are you most at home?

Walking in the countryside with family, friends and some good snacks! Since moving to East Lothian from the middle of Bristol, it’s been so therapeutic to be able to walk along the local beaches. Always clears my head.

One place on your bucket list?

It’s so difficult to pick one! Zanzibar is currently occupying my daydreams.

Favourite place you have visited?

One perk of lockdown has been exploring Scotland when restrictions have allowed. I visited the Outer Hebrides last summer, but I don’t think I can pick one favourite spot. Beautiful white sand beaches, and so peaceful.

Favourite book, artist, musician or band?

I’m not sure I have a favourite book or artist, but I’m a fan of Muse.

Do you have any children/pets?

No kids, but one very fluffy, high maintenance cat called Rhubarb. That’s the same thing, right?

Tell us something people wouldn’t know about you.

Probably that I grew up in the south of France, so I speak decent French.

You have a table of 4 for dinner, who do you invite and why?

  • Sandi Toksvig – so funny and interesting!
  • Tim Peake – I bet he’d have some great stories.
  • Nigella Lawson – although this would put my cooking/hosting skills under some pressure!
  • David Mitchell – again, hilarious.
