Deciding how to live: 2021 Reflections - Gordon Wilson, Managing Director

Having enjoyed some time off over the Christmas period and like many, a bit of enforced isolation time due to family members testing positive for COVID-19, I had plenty time to reflect. Everyone I should add, is perfectly fit & well, having luckily suffered only mild cold like symptoms.

Writing your life story.

We encourage unconstrained blue sky thinking about how you would like to spend your time creating memories and having fun. Often, the conversation is around more family time, more holidays, travel, adventure and about the house you want to live in. We have also had clients come to us and share their ambitions of the car they want to drive or a set of golf clubs they’ve had their eye on.

Our job is to help you figure out what your ideal life will cost, and then build the plan to make it happen. We will get to know you, your family and your ambitions, and will coach you into confidently living the life you want to live, ensuring that you feel secure and have certainty that your personal finances will not run empty.

It is common for us to find that working less or retiring early is an option, and throughout 2021 we were told that our advice and support had been ‘transformational’ and ‘life-changing’. We do this not by conjuring up magical investment returns, but by careful thought and detailed planning.

Carbon’s team of experts are highly skilled in the intricacies of pensions, personal taxation and investing but our difference is that our team get to know you personally, we offer a bespoke plan based on you, your dreams and all you want to achieve.

What do we all want to achieve, right now?

In 2021, we have experienced people coming to us with a changed mindset that fits perfectly with our own approach to life.

Lockdown has shown us that we can work remotely, and can spend more time with family, have more time for our own fitness and wellbeing, our hobbies and passions. We don’t need to be sitting in traffic or in crowded trains or planes as often, and my reflection is that we would all like more of this, please.

That is why we have been so busy over the past year, helping people to live their new dreams by showing them the art of the possible.

Second Opinion Service (SOS)

We launched a Second Opinion Service (SOS) at the start of lockdown to help anyone in need of advice but for whom advice fees would be step too far while there was so much financial hardship. This has morphed into a means for any prospective clients to ‘try before they buy’.

If you would like to know more about what Carbon is about and how we can help you then please get in touch for a chat and consider requesting our SOS, it is free of charge and at worst will provide peace of mind. At best it will change your life – really, that’s what we do!
