On Sunday, 25th May 2025, the team at Carbon Financial Partners will lace up their running shoes and take on the EMF Hairy Haggis Team Relay in memory of their friend and colleague, Julie Wild, who they lost in November 2024. This effort is dedicated to raising funds for Cancer Research UK, supporting the fight against a disease that has touched the team so personally.
The Hairy Haggis Team Relay is part of the Edinburgh Marathon Festival and splits the marathon into four legs. The legs range in distance from 4.4 to 8.3 miles, and yes, there was plenty of debate about who gets the “glory leg” and who’s stuck with the longest uphill stretch.
Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading independent cancer charity dedicated to saving lives through research, influence, and information. Thanks to decades of progress, cancer survival rates in the UK have doubled since the 1970s. But there is still more to be done - 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
Donations help fund:
By supporting this cause, the Carbon team hopes to help drive the breakthroughs that will lead to better treatments, earlier diagnoses, and more lives saved, offering hope to families affected by cancer everywhere.
The team has set up a fundraising page to collect donations in Julie's memory. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to a world without cancer.
Your support means the world to the team, to Julie’s memory, and everyone facing cancer today.
