On Saturday 2nd June, the people of Perth will be attempting to break the world record for the world’s largest Kilt Race. This record attempt will form part of Perth’s highly anticipated Diamond Jubilee celebrations, with the goal of encouraging 2,000 or more runners, all wearing kilts, to complete the 8km course.
Perth in Canada currently holds the record for the world’s largest Kilt Race, with 1,089 completing the challenge in 2010.
The race will be taking place, not only to attempt a world record, but also to raise money for the ABF Soldiers’ Charity and PKAVS.
Carbon’s Mark Christie, Michael Wilson and Stephen Rowntree will be donning their kilts and taking up the challenge on 2nd June, joining other local businesses and individuals who are keen to get in shape for summer whilst providing support to the local community.
