Richie Off To a Flying Start

Congratulations to Richie Ramsay on his impressive top 20 finish at the HSBC Championship in Abu Dhabi.

His success followed hard on the heels of the high profile announcement last week that the Scottish European Tour player had agreed to become a Carbon ambassador this season.

Carbon managing director Gordon Wilson said: “It was a fantastic start to the season for Richie and for our sponsorship deal.

“He played very well and was the top Scot in a high class international field. Everyone at Carbon was delighted with the media profile we enjoyed during the tournament and Richie must be pleased with the shape of his game this early in the year.”

Ramsay finished in a tie for 16th place with an eight under par tally courtesy of cards of 73, 66, 72 and 69. That bagged him round 30,000 Euros and the same number of points in the Race to Dubai.

Before heading to Doha for the next challenge, he said: “It was a nice start to the year. My swing is very close to where I want it to be.”

The tournament was won by world number 6 Rickie Fowler on 18 under, with the US Ryder Cup star edging out Thomas Pieters, Rory McIlroy and Henrik Stenson.
